Regular City Council Meeting Minutes 

City of Porter 

November 4, 2024, 6:30 p.m. 

 

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Verschelde. 

 

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, Craig Peterson, and Judy Verschelde.   

 

Also present was Ken Hennen. 

 

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the October 7, 2024, Regular City Council meeting.  Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

Ken Hennen inquired into snow blowing and city informed will be the same as last year. 

 

The city reviewed the information from Bollig and will mail out letters to the locations we were unable to contact. 

 

RESOLUTION 11.04.2024 

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter, in the County of Yellow Medicine and the state of Minnesota that the city gives their approval for an offsite Bingo gambling permit on December 31, 2024, at 6:30 pm for the Porter Firemens Relief Association located within the city limits at the Porter Community Hall for rent of $0.00. 

A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Craig Peterson, to approve Resolution 11.04.2024.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the resolution was passed. 

 

Olson Sanitation notified the city of a garbage rate increase of approximately 15% and it will be effective on 01/01/2025. 

 

481,000 gallons of water used. 

 

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Peterson, to pay the bills as read.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

 

A motion was made by Craig Peterson, seconded by Pat Vlaminck, to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
