Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting Minutes
City of Porter
April 9, 2024, 6:30 p.m.

Mayor Donald Verschelde called the local 2024 Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting of the for the City of Porter to order.

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Don Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Craig Peterson, Judy Verschelde, and Pat Vlaminck.

Also present was Jared Drietz.

Also present were Brian Rosenau, Yellow Medicine County Auditor /Treasurer, Chad Doose and Jake Erickson, assessors for the City of Porter with Yellow Medicine County.

Jared inquired into “what” the solid waste fee was for – Brian explained and that everyone has this assessed.

Reviewed the following: nothing new within the city regarding sales; Porter will have a 14% increase, which is comparable to surrounding communities. There were 23 good agricultural sales/down from last year; 2.5% increase; agricultural homestead increased to 3.5 million. Commercial/Industrial had no changes.

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Pat Vlaminck to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
