Porter Will Receive Grant Money - March 2005
The city of Porter will
receive $585,700.00 in a Small Cities Development grant
administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and
Economic Development. The grant is meant to provide a decent
living and working environment in small cities in the state
among low to moderate income families and individuals. Porter
will use their grant of over one-half of a million dollars to
rehabilitate 15 owner-occupied homes, 15 renter-occupied homes
and 8 commercial buildings.

The Annual Porter Market
Day Sale will not be held on its traditional 1st
Saturday in April this year. Instead make plans to be in Porter
on Saturday, April 16th for the Porter Auction. The
only change in the auction will be the date. The Market Day Sale
still promises to be a complete day of fun, food and

Local Cafe Has New Extended Hours - March 2005
Deb's Cafe on Lone Tree
Street in Porter will continue to be open every Friday evening
until 8:00 PM to serve a supper special. The Cafe's new hours of
operation are: Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday 6:00
AM to 2:00 PM; Sunday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
