Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of
Porter
Monday, February 7, 2011, 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council meeting to order.
Council members present were Eric Dybsetter, Kim Jelen, Darlene Moeller,
Donald Verschelde, Judy Verschelde, and Pat Vlaminck.
Also present was Larry Stoks.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the January
3, 2011 Regular City Council meeting.
Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Kim Jelen, seconded by
Pat Vlaminck. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was
carried.
The 2011 meeting of the Board of Appeal and Equalization of the City of
Porter is scheduled for April 7th at 6:30 to 7:00 pm.
FEMA reimbursement for expenses incurred during the flood fight in September
of 2010 was discussed. Pat
Vlaminck and Larry Stoks continue to work with FEMA on this issue.
The potential for spring flooding was discussed.
The fire department will do some drilling on a pre-plan for flood
fighting.
The upcoming obsolescence of the florescent lights in the old portion of the
fire hall was discussed. Pat
Vlaminck mentioned that Otter Tail Power Company offers some rebates for
upgrading the fixtures before June.
Eric Dybsetter made a motion for Vlaminck Electric to upgrade the florescent
light fixtures in the old portion of the fire hall to take advantage of the
Otter Tail rebate. Darlene
Moeller seconded the motion. All
were in favor with none opposed and the motion was carried.
Larry Stoks reported on the Water and Sewer Department.
322,000 gallons of water were used in January.
Larry needs a new pH meter and chlorine residual tester.
Darlene Moeller made a motion to pay the bills as read by Judy Verschelde.
Kim Jelen seconded the motion.
All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen, to adjourn the
meeting. All were in favor with
none opposed, and the motion was carried.
