Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of
Porter
Monday, February 1, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
Mayor
Donald Verschelde called the regular city council meeting to order.
Council
members present were Eric Dybsetter, Darlene Moeller, Donald Verschelde, and
Judy Verschelde.
Larry
Stoks was also present.
Mayor
Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the January 4,
2010 City Council meeting. Minutes
were approved as read in a motion by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Eric
Dybsetter. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
The 2010
fire contract meeting will be on Tuesday, 02/02/2010 at 7:00 p.m.
Don Verschelde, and Eric Dybsetter will represent the city, and Larry
Stoks will represent the fire department.
375,000
gallons of water were used in December.
The city now has an annual maintenance contract with Dakota Pump.
The annual fee of $430 includes an inspection.
SMI has
build a new safety grate and access cover for the lift station, to avoid an
accident while taking water samples.
Eric
Dybsetter noted that there is a problem certifying the service areas
protected by the Porter Fire Department in 2009.
The document contained errors, and the Department of Revenue requires
copies of both the fire service documents and apportionment agreements to
make any changes. The city does
not have apportionment agreements with the townships.
Eric will work with Pat and the department of revenue to resolve the
issue.
It was
noted that a car has been parked on the street near the apartments all
winter without moving. Mayor
Veschelde will check into the situation.
Darlene
Moeller made a motion to pay the bills as read by Judy Verschelde.
Eric Dybsetter seconded the motion.
All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Eric Dybsetter, to adjourn the
meeting. All were in favor with
none opposed, and the motion was carried.
