Special City Council Meeting – New Fire Truck Grant / Loan Meeting

6:30 p.m.
Mayor
Donald Verschelde called the special city council meeting to order.
The purpose of the meeting was the signing of documents regarding the
USDA grant and loan for a new fire truck.
Council
members present were Eric Dybsetter, Kim Jelen, Darlene Moeller, Donald
Verschelde, and Pat Vlaminck.
Also
present were Shane Hastings and Megan Gernentz, Area Specialists for the
USDA office in
Marshall,
MN.
Shane
Hastings explained all documents relating to the fire truck grant and loan.
Council members signed documents as required.
Resolution 02-2009
BE IT
RESOLVED that the Porter City Council accepts USDA Loan Resolution (per
document USDA Form RD 1942-47 Rev. 12-97) for the
principle amount of $100,000.00
A motion
was made by Darlene Moeller to approve Resolution 02-2009.
Kim Jelen seconded the motion.
All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
Shane
Hastings explained some handicapped accessibility items that should be
improved or added to the city hall / fire hall.
A 20’ X 16’ concrete handicapped parking space must be provided.
All door handles should be of the lever type.
At least 1 handicapped accessible restroom should be provided.
Shane
Hastings explained that non-discrimination statements should be added to the
city web site and any city correspondences, including billings of the fire
department.
Pat
Vlaminck made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Kim Jelen seconded the motion.
All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
