of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, December 1, 2008
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Darlene Moeller, Don Verschelde, Bonnie
Olson, Kim Jelen and Judy Verschelde.
Also present were Larry Stoks, Scott Wiese and Chad Leibel
both from Otter Tail Power.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to approve the November 3, 2008 city council minutes. All in favor,
no one opposed.
Larry Stoks gave the water report. The water usage for
December was 328,000 gallons. The meters on the lift station were having
issues, Larry has gotten them resolved.
The ponds have been discharged.
Scott Wiese and Chad Leibel were present from Otter Tail
to discuss the franchise renewal contract.
RESOLUTION 03-2008
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Porter
approves an Ordinance granting Otter Tail Power Company permission to erect,
construct, install and maintain within the City of Porter, Minnesota, an
electric light and power system and transmission lines and to operate the
same to install conduits, poles, wires, pipes and other fixtures in, upon
and under the streets, alleys, bridges and public grounds of said City for
the purpose of furnishing electric light, heat and power to said City and
the inhabitants thereof. All voted in favor, no one opposed. This ordinance
was adopted by the City Council on December 1, 2008.
RESOLUTION 04-2008
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter,
Minnesota, County of Yellow Medicine, Minnesota that the following sums of
money be levied for the current year collectible in 2009 upon taxable
property in the City of Porter, Minnesota.
FINAL LEVY: $40,416.38
FINAL BUDGET: $104,666.38
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller approving the above resolution. All in favor, no one opposed.
Adopted by the City Council on December 1, 2008.

Jelen to approve the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.

Moeller to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
