of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, August 4, 2008
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Darlene Moeller, Pat Vlaminck, Don
Verschelde, Bonnie Olson, Kim Jelen and Judy Verschelde.
Also present were Larry Stoks, Pedro Villasana, Jose
Guerra, John Cornell, Larry Dybsetter and Tom Noyes.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to approve the minutes of the July7, 2008 City Council meeting. All
in favor, no one opposed.
Pedro Villasana was present to talk about the tree removal
on his property. Jose Guerra was present to translate.
John Cornell, Larry Dybsetter and Tom Noyes were present
to talk about the Porter Hall for the annual Town and Country picnic. They
also inquired about the rent of the hall.
There will be a city clean up day in September and it will
be posted in the Canby News.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim
Jelen to approve a 3.2 liquor license to the Harvest Festival committee. All
in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen
to appoint Dave Parsons as our City Assessor. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to appoint Louaine Knutson as head judge and Mavis Anderson as
election judge for the upcoming election. All in favor, no one opposed.
Larry Stoks gave the water report. The water usage was
652,000 gallons. An influent sample was sent in.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to pay the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
