of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, July
7, 2008
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Darlene Moeller, Pat Vlaminck, Don
Verschelde, Bonnie Olson and Judy Verschelde.
Also present were Larry Stoks and Nancy Borman.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to approve the minutes of the June 2, 2008 City Council meeting. All
in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to increase the mileage rate to .585. All in favor, no one opposed.
The “Friends of the Porter Hall” made a $1000 donation
to the city for use in updating the Porter Hall.
The bid for mowing the Porter hall went to Serenity
Gardens (Jacob Tetrick).
Nancy Borman was present to give the council the
financial report for the year ending 2007.
The Porter Harvest Festival will be held Friday, August
15 through Sunday, August 17, 2008.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller the approval of a 3.2 license to “Cobrafest”. All in favor, no one
opposed.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Pat
Vlaminck to approve a dance permit for Ashley Groen and Ryan Parrish to be
held on July 19, 2008 at the Porter Hall. All in favor, no one opposed.
A recommendation was
not made by the Planning and
Zoning committee for the wall and lean too brought to the council by Mary
Wente, Cut Loose Lounge.
Larry Stoks gave the water and sewer report. There were
437.000 gallons used. An influent sample was taken and sent in. The meters
were read.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Pat
Vlaminck to pay the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
