Minutes of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, June 2, 2008
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Darlene Moeller, Kim Jelen, Pat
Vlaminck, Don Verschelde, Bonnie Olson and Judy Verschelde.
Also present were Larry Stoks, Mary Wente, Pedro
Villasana and Jose Guerra.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Pat
Vlaminck to approve the minutes of the May 5, 2008 City Council meeting. All
in favor, no one opposed.
Pedro Villasana was concerned about the tree that was
cut down on his property. Jose Guerra was there to translate for him.
Mary Wente was inquiring about a lean to and a wall on
the existing cement of the smoking room.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim
Jelen to allow Mary to put up a wall and lean to on the smoking room,
contingent upon approval by the planning and zoning committee. All in favor,
no one opposed.
Larry Stoks gave the water report. There were 1,045,000
gallons used. The water leak has been found by the lift station, and has
been repaired.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to approve dance permits for Megan and Marty Syltie and also to Bill
and Robin Briggs. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded, by Kim
Jelen to pay the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Pat
Vlaminck to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
