Minutes of the City
of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, March 3, 2008
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Kim Jelen, Pat Vlaminck, Don
Verschelde, Bonnie Olson, Judy Verschelde and Darlene Moeller.
Also present were Larry Stoks, Mary Wente and Jon and
Angie Briggs.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the
minutes of the February 4, 2008 City Council meeting. Minutes were approved
as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen. All in favor, no
one opposed.

minutes of the special council meeting on February 5, 2008. Minutes were
approved as read in a motion by Kim Jelen, seconded by Pat Vlaminck. All in
favor, no one opposed.
Jon and Angie Briggs were present to inform the council on
what was being done with the funds raised by The Friends of the Porter Hall.
Mary Wente was present to talk about a smoking room. The
procedure for a building permit was explained to Mary Wente by the city
council.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to accept the proposal from Geske Home Improvement Co for the rain
gutters and down spouts for the Porter Hall. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen
to give a $100 donation to the Yellow Medicine County Fair. All in favor, no
one opposed.
The Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting will be held
on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Porter Fire Hall.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to give a $25 donation to the Porter Easter Egg Hunt. All in favor,
no one opposed.
Larry Stoks gave the water report. There were 858,000
gallons used.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim
Jelen to pay the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen
to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
