of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, April 2, 2007
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council
meeting to order.
Those present were Judy Verschelde, Bonnie Olson, Don
Verschelde, Darlene Moeller, Pat Vlaminck and Kim Jelen.
Also present were Norm VanOverbeke – DSI, Larry Stoks,
Linda Hennen, Norma Johnson, Mildred Schoneman, John Cornell, Jacob Tetrick
and Tom Noyes.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the
minutes of the March 5, 2007 City Council meeting. Minutes were approved as
read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene Moeller. All in favor,
no one opposed.
Norm VanOverbeke with DSI gave the city council the
progress of the small cities development grant.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to give DSI permission to re-budget the funds so they can move
forward. All in favor, no one opposed.
Jacob Tetrick was present to inquire about the city
mowing.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen to donate $300 to the Porter Senior citizens. All in favor, no one
opposed.
Linda Hennen was present to inquire about the city
mowing.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen to grant the Porter Town and Country Club permission to use the fire
hall for clerking on April 21, 2007. All in favor, no one opposed.
The city received a $300 donation from Terry Swedzinski
for his fire call.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to raise the amount of a fire call to $750. All in favor, no one
opposed.
Larry Stoks read the water report. There were 298,000
gallons used. The ponds are leveling and will be discharged. An influent
sample has been sent in.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen to approve the bid from Hoffman Builders to repair the hall. All in
favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen to approve the bills as read. All in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim
Jelen to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, no one opposed.
