Minutes of the City of Porter
Special Council Meeting
Tuesday, April 18, 2006
7:00 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the special city council meeting to order.
Those present were Darlene Moeller, Pat Vlaminck, Bonnie Olson, Judy
Verschelde, Kim Jelen and Donald Verschelde.
Also present were: Jerry Boulton, Tom Noyes, Waldo Petersen, and Raymond
Petersen.
The Planning Commission presented the City Council a recommendation to
re-zone area (Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2nd Railroad Addition to the
City of Porter) from R-1, General Residential, to B-1, General Business,
subject to conditions and restrictions imposed by the City Council.
A discussion was held in regards to the recommendation by the Planning
Commission and the conditions were also discussed.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene Moeller to re-zone the
area (Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2nd Railroad Addition to the City of
Porter with the following conditions imposed by the City Council:
A time limit of 90 days for clean up of the property.
Follow all city ordinances.
New and used parts to be fenced and/or screened from public view.
No on-street parking.
Temporary storage of parts in current building permitted until new building
is completed.
New steel constructed building only kind permitted.
Current building and trailer to be removed upon completion of construction
on new building which will be by January of 2007.
To obtain a building permit prior to construction.
All voted in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene Moeller to issue Jule
Jacobson a permit to move a barn from Norma Johnson’s property to his
property or to build a machine shed. All voted in favor, no one opposed.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim Jelen, to adjourn the
meeting. All voted in favor, no one opposed.
