Minutes of the City of Porter
Regular Council Meeting
Monday, February 6, 2006
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called the regular city council meeting to order.
Those present were Bonnie Olson, Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Pat Vlaminck,
Judy Verschelde and Darlene Moeller. Also present were Larry Stoks, Tom
Noyes, Waldo Petersen, and Norm VanOverbeke from DSI.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the January
2, 2006 City Council meeting. Minutes were approved as read in a motion by
Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen. All in favor – no one opposed.
Tom Noyes asked questions in regards to the zoned area.
Waldo Petersen asked permission from the council to move in a building for
temporary usage at his shop where the fire occurred.
A donation was made to the City of Porter from Shaokatan Sportsmen’s Club in
the amount of $205.00.
Resolution 01-2006
On February 6, 2006 the Porter City Council acknowledged receipt of a
request for a resolution from the Shaokatan Sportsmen Club to sell pull tabs
at the Goose Pit Bar. A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene
Moeller to approve the said resolution to authorize the Shaokatan Sportsmen
Club to sell pull tabs in the Goose Pit Bar. All in favor-no one opposed.
Larry Stoks gave the water report. He reported problems with the lift
station, but has taken care of it. There were 394,000 gallons used.
Norm VanOverbeke updated the council on the grant.
A motion was made by Darlene Moeller, seconded by Kim Jelen to allow DSI for
a draw down of money with the City Council approval, the Friday prior to the
City Council meeting, with the City Council still to approve the bills. All
in favor-no one opposed.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim Jelen to approve the
bills as read. All in favor-no one opposed.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Darlene Moeller to adjourn the
meeting. All in favor-no one opposed.
